Keeping your cool on the road
Welcome to Caravan Comfort, where we share our expert tips to keep your caravan running smoothly. From pre-trip checks to troubleshooting common issues, we're here to make sure your food stays fresh, your morning cuppa is hot and the van is cosy on those cold nights, no matter where your Australian adventure takes you.

Planning your big trip: The ultimate fridge check
Thinking about doing the big lap this year? Our number one tip is to plan ahead! Even if you think everything in the caravan worked fine when you turned it off after your last trip, that doesn't mean it will work now. We suggest taking a small weekend trip away a few weeks ahead of time, or at the very least, turn on your appliances a week before your departure date. This will ensure your 12-volt system and battery management system are working properly to power fridges and other appliances. Even if you rarely go off-grid or use gas, be sure to test these too. If you leave it to the last minute, repairers are unlikely to get out to you; we are often booked out two weeks in advance.

For every caravanner, every journey
These tips are for all types of travellers. It doesn't matter what stage of van life you are in; we want you to feel confident that your fridge runs well. Whether you're a seasoned grey nomad, a family on an adventure, or just starting your caravanning journey, our advice is tailored to help you keep your tucker fresh and your travels comfortable.

Solving common fridge dilemmas
Often, the conversation caravanners discuss is about a poorly performing 3-way fridge. One common issue is low voltage (12 volts) failures, particularly when the fridge element can't handle high ambient temperatures, which can drain batteries if not connected to a charging vehicle. We've heard it all over a cuppa at the caravan park, and we're here to help you navigate these common headaches with practical solutions.
